Augusta participated in the DESA Artist-In-Residence Program in Ubud, Bali, in 2024. Here, she connected with Agus and Krisna. She wanted to share what she had seen and experienced in Bali with an Australian audience. This exhibition curated by Augusta presents a series of small sculptures made by the artisans she met here.

“In between Augusta, Agus and another Agus” is a curatorial exploration that celebrates the often unrecognised artistry of Balinese silversmiths. While their skilled hands toil day in and day out, meticulously assembling the intricate structures that become earrings, necklaces, and rings, it is what happens in the margins of their work - particularly in moments of boredom - that caught Augusta’s attention and sparked the imagination.”
